Lore & Lament began as a creative outlet for duo Holly and Mitch to explore and express their love of traditional folk songs from England and the Celtic Isles. However, it wasn’t long before Holly’s background in crafting soundscapes and her deep connection to the esoteric intertwined with Mitch’s roots in alternative rock and grunge. What emerged from this fusion is something entirely their own, a sound they call Liminal Alt-Folk. It’s a genre-bending experience that moves between worlds, blending the raw honesty of folk with the textures and intensity of ambient and alternative music. Through it, Lore & Lament weave archetypal tales of folklore and the unseen, inviting listeners to linger in the liminal spaces where story and sound converge.
